The Excilon AMD Drain Sponge by Kendall, also known as Covidien, is a specialized wound care product designed to enhance the management of medical sites with drains, catheters, chest tubes, IVs, and tracheostomies. Precautions
Users should avoid using the sponge with Dakin’s solution or bleach, as these substances can deactivate PHMB and cause yellowing. It is also not recommended for patients with known sensitivity to PHMB.
