Description
The HOYA Vivinex iSert XC1 is a preloaded intraocular lens (IOL) designed for use in cataract surgery. Crafted from hydrophobic acrylic material, this lens offers exceptional clarity with its glistening-free properties and integrated UV filter. Its advanced aspheric optic design, known as "ABC Design," partially compensates for corneal spherical aberration, enhancing visual quality even in challenging conditions.
Optic and Haptic Design
- Aspheric Optic: The lens features a sharp, square, and thin optic edge with a smooth surface achieved through active oxygen processing. This design reduces posterior capsule opacification (PCO) and minimizes dysphotopsia.
- Haptic Stability: The textured-rough haptic surface, made from the same acrylic material, ensures stability and prevents sticking during folding, contributing to reliable positioning within the eye.
Surface Quality and Transparency
The Vivinex iSert XC1 boasts a high-quality optical surface with enhanced clarity and biocompatibility. Its transparency is maintained over time, with clinical studies confirming low PCO and YAG capsulotomy rates, ensuring long-term visual clarity.
Delivery System
The lens comes with the preloaded Vivinex™ iSert® injector system, featuring an ergonomic design with a precision tip. The injector's front tip has an outer diameter of 1.70 mm, suitable for incisions as small as 2.0 mm, allowing for simplified and reproducible implantation.
Dimensions and Specifications
- Optic Diameter: 6.00 mm
- Overall Length: 13.00 mm
- Power Range: +6.00 to +30.00 diopters in 0.50 D increments
Optical Constants
- Nominal A-Constant: 118.9
- Optimized Constants: Includes Haigis, Hoffer Q, Holladay 1, and SRK/T for precise IOL power calculation.
Clinical Performance
The lens is engineered to reduce PCO through proprietary surface treatment and strong capsular adhesion. Clinical studies indicate significantly lower PCO incidence compared to other lenses, such as AcrySof IQ. The Vivinex iSert XC1 is designed to maintain high image quality, even if not perfectly centered, providing consistent visual outcomes.
Intended Use
This intraocular lens is intended for implantation during cataract surgery, suitable for micro-incision cataract surgery (MICS). It is designed for use by healthcare professionals, offering a reliable solution for enhancing visual quality post-surgery.
For comprehensive indications and contraindications, healthcare providers should refer to the Instructions For Use. The lens is also available in model XY1, which includes both UV and blue light filters.
