Description
The HOYA Vivinex iSert XY1 is a preloaded intraocular lens (IOL) system meticulously designed for cataract surgery, offering advanced features to enhance visual outcomes. Crafted from glistening-free hydrophobic acrylic material, it integrates UV and blue light filters to protect the eye while providing clarity.
Optical Excellence
This lens boasts a proprietary aspheric optic design with biconvex, anterior aspheric elements. These features significantly reduce spherical aberration and minimize coma, even in cases of IOL decentration. The design partially compensates for corneal spherical aberration, making it more tolerant to sources of coma compared to standard aspheric designs.
Surface Innovation
The optic surface is smooth and regular, complemented by a square, thin, and textured edge with a radius of less than 10.0μm. This innovative edge design helps reduce posterior capsule opacification (PCO) and dysphotopsia. Additionally, the textured-rough haptic surface enhances grip within the capsular bag.
Advanced Manufacturing
Active oxygen processing treatment is employed to achieve a smooth surface, further reducing PCO. The lens features an optic diameter of 6.00 mm and an overall length of 13.00 mm. It is available in powers ranging from +6.00 to +30.00 diopters, in 0.50 D increments.
Precision and Predictability
The IOL calculation constants include a nominal A-constant of 118.9, with optimized constants provided for various calculation methods such as Haigis, Hoffer Q, Holladay 1, and SRK/T. These specifications ensure precise refractive outcomes.
Injector System
The Vivinex iSert system includes a preloaded injector with a front tip outer diameter of 1.70 mm, suitable for a recommended incision size of 2.20 mm. The uni-directional slider and screw injector with fixed grip facilitate a stepwise loading and delivery process, ensuring consistent lens placement.
Clinical Benefits
Clinical performance highlights include improved image quality and a reduced risk of glistenings and PCO. Studies indicate significantly lower posterior capsule opacification and Nd:YAG capsulotomy rates compared to other IOLs. The lens also enhances intermediate vision and refractive predictability, making it a reliable choice for healthcare professionals during cataract surgery.
