Material and Optic Design
Crafted from glistening-free hydrophobic acrylic, the Vivinex iSert XY1 includes both UV and blue light filters, ensuring protection and clarity. The lens features a proprietary aspheric optic design with two aspheric elements, aimed at reducing spherical aberration and minimizing coma, even in cases of IOL decentration. This results in improved visual quality for patients.
The optic edge is square, thin, and textured with a radius of less than 10.0μm. This design helps reduce posterior capsule opacification (PCO) and dysphotopsia, while the smooth optic surface ensures clarity.
Haptic Design and Surface Treatment
The lens includes a textured-rough haptic surface for better grip and reduced adhesion. Active oxygen processing is used to treat the surface, providing a smooth finish and further reducing PCO.
Delivery System
Preloaded in the Vivinex iSert injector system, the lens offers a uni-directional slider and screw injector with a fixed grip. The front injector tip has an outer diameter of 1.70 mm, and the recommended incision size is 2.20 mm, making it ideal for micro-incision cataract surgery (MICS).
Dimensions and Power Range
The optic diameter measures 6.00 mm, with an overall length of 13.00 mm. The lens is available in a power range from +6.00 to +30.00 diopters, in 0.50 D increments, allowing for precise customization to patient needs.
Clinical Performance
Clinically, the HOYA Vivinex iSert XY1 demonstrates significantly lower glistening formation and PCO rates compared to other lenses. It maintains high optical quality and clarity of vision over time, with lower Nd:YAG capsulotomy rates and better EPCO/AQUA scores for PCO.
MRI Compatibility
The lens is MRI safe at 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla, with no metallic components, ensuring compatibility in various medical imaging environments.
