Description
Mepilex Lite, crafted by Mölnlycke Health Care, is an advanced wound care solution designed for non- to low-exuding wounds. Its thin, absorbent foam structure makes it highly suitable for a variety of wound types, including leg and foot ulcers, pressure injuries, partial thickness burns, and more. This versatile dressing is also beneficial for protecting fragile skin and preventing damage from medical devices.
Key Features
- Safetac® Technology: Mepilex Lite incorporates a soft silicone adhesive layer that minimizes pain and trauma during dressing changes. It adheres gently to dry skin without sticking to the wound bed, allowing for atraumatic removal.
- Conformability: The dressing's thin and flexible nature enables it to conform to body contours, making it ideal for difficult-to-dress areas. It can be cut to fit various wound shapes, with some sizes offering a cutting guide.
- Absorbency and Protection: The polyurethane foam pad effectively absorbs small amounts of exudate, while the breathable, waterproof film backing provides a barrier against bacteria and viruses.
Benefits
- Comfort and Skin Protection: Designed to maintain a moist wound environment, Mepilex Lite supports optimal healing conditions while reducing the risk of maceration. Its comfortable design minimizes skin irritation, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
- Secure Placement: The dressing stays in place for several days, depending on the wound condition, and can be adjusted without losing adherence. It is non-bordered, allowing flexible application with additional bandages if needed.
Application Guidelines
- Cleanse the wound and dry the surrounding skin before application.
- Ensure at least a 2 cm overlap on dry skin.
- Suitable for use under compression bandages and should not be used with oxidizing agents.
