Little Parachoc Oral Liquid is a specialized oral liquid laxative designed to alleviate chronic constipation, particularly in children. Its primary active ingredient, liquid paraffin, acts as a lubricant laxative, effectively softening and lubricating the faecal mass to facilitate easier passage without stimulating the bowel.

Indications

Little Parachoc is indicated for:

Administration Guidelines

• Dosage: Administered once daily, with recommended starting doses varying by age:
• Children 12 months to 6 years: 10–15 mL
• Children 7–12 years: 20 mL
• Adults: 40–50 mL

Doses can be adjusted in 5 mL increments as needed.

• Instructions: Shake the bottle well before use. It can be taken alone or mixed with cold milk, flavoured drinks, or yoghurt. To reduce the risk of aspiration, doses should not be taken less than two hours before lying down.

Precautions

• Not recommended for children under 12 months without medical advice.
• Should not be used in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting.
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be on medical advice.
• Overdose may lead to transient diarrhoea and reduced absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.

Composition

Little Parachoc is free from sugar, gluten, phenylalanine, lactose, casein, egg, soy, nuts, and peanuts. It contains preservatives such as benzoic acid and potassium sorbate, along with artificial sweeteners and flavourings.
