URO-TAINER PHMB is a specialized catheter irrigation solution designed to maintain the hygiene and functionality of indwelling urethral and suprapubic urinary catheters. This sterile, non-pyrogenic solution is formulated to effectively rinse catheters, removing debris, mucus, tissue waste, and clots, while significantly reducing bacterial colonization and biofilm formation.

Composition

• Active Ingredient: 0.02% Polihexanide (PHMB)
• Other Ingredients: Sorbitol and water for injections

The solution is isotonic with a neutral pH of 7, making it non-toxic, non-irritant, and hypoallergenic. It is not systemically absorbed, ensuring safety and minimizing adverse reactions.

URO-TAINER PHMB exhibits a broad antimicrobial spectrum, being effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, fungi, and yeast. Usage

The solution is provided in a ready-to-use, closed, sterile system, featuring a 100 ml PVC-free bag with a flexible tube, clamp, and universal connector. This design ensures ease of use, allowing for gentle, controlled irrigation suitable for healthcare professionals or instructed patients. Recommended usage typically involves one or two irrigations per day, with adjustments based on individual needs.

Safety and Compatibility

URO-TAINER PHMB is well tolerated for long-term use, except in patients with hyponatraemia. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to PHMB, certain uro-genital conditions, recent urinary tract surgery, and specific usage restrictions such as not using it intravenously or on open wounds.
