Antiseptic Properties
Each dressing is impregnated with 0.5% w/w chlorhexidine acetate, providing effective antiseptic action against a broad spectrum of bacteria, including MRSA. This feature makes BACTIGRAS particularly suitable for wounds at risk of infection, such as minor burns, lacerations, abrasions, graft sites, leg ulcers, and minor skin loss injuries.
Design and Functionality
The open-weave gauze design allows exudate to drain into a secondary absorbent dressing, maintaining a clean wound environment. This breathable and lightweight structure promotes airflow, fostering a conducive environment for faster healing. The gauze maintains its shape and resists fraying when cut, providing versatility in application.
Hypoallergenic and Versatile
BACTIGRAS is hypoallergenic, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It serves as a protective barrier between the wound and the secondary dressing, reducing infection risk and inflammation while soothing the wound area.
Application Instructions
- Cleanse the wound with sterile saline.
- Apply a single layer of BACTIGRAS directly to the wound.
- Cover with an absorbent secondary dressing and secure with tape or bandage.
- Change the dressing every 1–3 days, or as advised by a healthcare provider.
Precautions
- Avoid using on more than 10% of the body surface area.
- Not suitable for individuals with known sensitivity to chlorhexidine or dressing components.
- Keep away from eyes, middle ear, meninges, and brain.
- Do not use with oxidising wound cleaning agents.
