Description

Askina SilNet Plus is a silicone wound contact layer designed for wound management where a gentle, protective interface is needed between the wound surface and a secondary absorbent dressing. Manufactured by Askina, part of B. Braun, it uses a conformable knitted fabric coated on both sides with soft silicone adhesive. Because the dressing is double-sided, either surface can be placed against the wound, which can simplify application in clinical and care settings.

Its open-mesh structure is designed to let wound exudate pass through to a secondary absorbent dressing while helping prevent that outer dressing from adhering directly to the wound bed. This creates a non-adherent contact layer that supports atraumatic dressing changes and may help reduce pain and secondary trauma during removal.
