Overview and Intended Use

The COMPRO Surgical Gown – Reinforced (Sterile) from Multigate Medical Products Pty. Ltd. is a single-use, sterile gown designed to provide enhanced barrier protection in areas at higher risk of fluid exposure. It is intended to protect patients and operating room personnel from microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material during surgical procedures.

Materials and Construction

• Base fabric: DuPont SOFTESSE, a water-repellent nonwoven composed of 55% woodpulp and 45% Dacron polyester, 67.8 g/m2, blue.
• Reinforcement: 47 gsm polyethylene (PE) breathable composite film applied to the inside front panel and inside of sleeves to protect critical zones.
• Sleeve seams: Glued (not stitched) to reduce the risk of fluid strike-through along seam lines.

Performance and Compliance

• Barrier protection: AAMI PB70 Level 3 in the reinforced critical zones (front panel and sleeves).
• Flammability: Meets CPSC 16 CFR Part 1610, Class 1.

Sterilization and Shelf Life

• Sterilized with ethylene oxide (EO).
• Not suitable for irradiation or steam sterilization; the dye is not steam-stable and the PE reinforcement has a low softening point.
• Shelf life: 5 years from the month of manufacture when stored under appropriate conditions.

Packaging (Sterile)

• Single pack: 1 gown plus 2 nonwoven hand towels; wrapped in a 90 × 90 cm crepe-paper sterile field; supplied in a paper–plastic peelable pouch with tamper-evident closure.
• Twin pack: 2 gowns plus 4 nonwoven hand towels; wrapped as above.

Use and Handling

• Single-use device; do not re-use.
