Description
Flocare Gravity Feeding Sets from Nutricia are single‑use administration sets designed to deliver enteral nutrition by gravity drip. They connect enteral feed packs or bottles to ENFit‑equipped feeding tubes and accessories. These sets are not for use with enteral feeding pumps. Because gravity feeding is less precise than pump delivery, the drip rate should be established and checked regularly.
Key features and components
- ENFit patient‑side connection; medication port accepts ENFit syringes (ISO 80369‑3 compliant).
- ENPlus cross‑spike pack connection with integrated Y‑port/two‑pack connector for feed plus water or two feed packs.
- Drip chamber (fill to approximately halfway before use) for visual drop counting.
- Manual flow‑control clamp to set drip rate by counting drops per minute.
- Latex‑free and DEHP‑free materials.
- Designed to hang on a drip stand; protective caps help maintain hygiene between steps.
Compatibility and connections
- Connects to ENPlus‑compatible enteral feed packs and Flocare containers.
- Bottle‑compatible variant includes a universal adaptor for direct connection to enteral bottles.
- Patient connection: screw the ENFit connector onto the feeding tube; do not overtighten.
Variants in the range
- Gravity Pack Set: Y‑port and drip chamber for ENPlus packs/containers.
- Gravity Pack & Bottle Set: Y‑port and drip chamber plus universal bottle adaptor.
Use and handling
- Single‑use only; replace the set every 24 hours.
- Prime the tubing before connecting to the feeding tube; fill the drip chamber to about halfway.
- Adjust the clamp to achieve the target drip rate; monitor periodically and do not let the container empty completely.
- General practice includes flushing the feeding tube with prescribed water via syringe according to clinical guidance.
- Storage: keep in a clean, dry place away from dust and direct sunlight.

- 125 mL/hr ≈ 33 drops/min
- 150 mL/hr ≈ 40 drops/min
- 175 mL/hr ≈ 47 drops/min
- 200 mL/hr ≈ 53 drops/min
