Flocare Gastrostomy Tube

Description

The Nutricia Flocare ENFit Gastrostomy Tube (G‑Tube) is a balloon‑retained silicone gastrostomy catheter designed for long‑term enteral feeding and/or gastric decompression. It is intended as a replacement tube for an already established gastrostomy stoma and should be used under medical supervision. This tube supports reliable daily care with clear position references and enteral‑only connectivity.

Materials and design

• Transparent, medical‑grade silicone construction; latex‑free and DEHP‑free.
• ENFit patient‑end connection (ISO 80369‑3) for enteral‑only compatibility.
• Radio‑opaque along the full length with 1 cm graduation markings to aid position verification.
• Internal silicone retention balloon and an external 90° silicone fixation disc to support secure placement and kink‑resistant bending.
• Quick‑release clamp to control flow during bolus feeding and help reduce backflow.
• Color‑coded balloon inflation port indicates Charrière (CH) size; balloon fill volume is printed on the tube/inflation port.

Indications and contraindications

• Indications: Long‑term enteral feeding and/or gastric decompression; replacement of a tube in a previously established gastrostomy stoma.
• Contraindications: Do not place if the stoma site is infected, or in the presence of ascites or peritoneal carcinoma.

• CH14 – Green – 5 mL
• CH18 – Red – 10 mL
• CH20 – Yellow – 15 mL

Balloon inflation

• Inflate the internal balloon with water via the dedicated inflation port.
• Compatible with a 10 mL Luer syringe for balloon inflation.
• Maintain the recommended balloon volume to help prevent dislodgement and leakage; check volume at the frequency advised by a healthcare professional.

Handling, use and care (summary)

• Follow Flocare placement and daily care guidance; maintain strict hygiene when handling feeds, tubes and sets.
• Flush the tube before and after feeds and medications, at least three times daily.
• Before use, verify that the external cm marking at the skin has not changed since last placement/check.
• Position the external fixation disc approximately 2–5 mm from the skin; advance and rotate the tube periodically if advised to reduce adherence to the stoma tract.

Storage

Store in a clean, dry environment; protect from dust, rain and direct sunlight.
