Product Details
Description
A double-ended nasal septum/periosteal elevator commonly used in ENT surgery, this instrument assists with elevating and separating mucoperichondrium/perichondrium and soft tissues, retracting tissue, and exposing underlying structures during septoplasty, rhinoplasty, nasal fracture work, and related procedures. Often referred to as a Howarth septum elevator, it is designed for controlled access in confined nasal spaces.
Design and features
- Double-ended layout: one broader, gently curved blade for soft‑tissue lifting and retraction; one smaller rounded, tapered end, commonly semi‑sharp, to initiate elevation (blunt variants are also used).
- Slender twin shafts support visibility and maneuverability in narrow cavities.
- Flat, solid central handle offers a stable, balanced grip; one‑piece construction with no joints or ratchets.
- Satin/dull surface finish helps reduce operative glare under bright lighting.
- Made from corrosion‑resistant surgical‑grade stainless steel for durability and ease of maintenance.
- Common overall length is approximately 21.5 cm (8.5 in); other sizes may be available.
Sterility and processing
- Reusable instrument typically supplied non‑sterile.
- Compatible with standard steam sterilization (autoclave) workflows in clinical settings.
This configuration supports precise tissue elevation and controlled retraction while minimizing visual distraction from glare, making it suitable for routine nasal and facial plastic procedures where delicate soft‑tissue handling is required.
