HydroTac Concave Wound Dressing

Description

HARTMANN HydroTac Concave is a sterile, single-use hydroactive/hydropolymer foam dressing designed for anatomically contoured sites such as the heel or elbow. The concave profile conforms to curved areas to maintain close contact and coverage, and the dressing can be cut to size to match individual wound dimensions. As a non-adhesive (non-border) dressing, it should be secured with an appropriate secondary fixation.

Construction and materials

• Outer film: Gas-permeable, waterproof, bacteria-resistant polyurethane that provides a protective barrier while allowing vapor exchange.
• Absorbent layer: Soft polyurethane foam to manage low to moderate exudate.
• Wound-contact layer: Mesh impregnated with a hydrogel (hydrated polyurea/polyurethane hybrid polymer with propylene glycol) that acts as a moisture reservoir, donates moisture when needed, and helps prevent adherence for atraumatic removal.

Performance and indications

• Supports a balanced moist wound environment by absorbing exudate and donating moisture as required.
• Suitable for wounds in the granulation and epithelialization phases with low to moderate exudate.
• Designed for use on anatomical curves (e.g., heel, elbow) where conformability is important.

Application and fixation

• Select a size that overlaps intact skin; cut to fit as needed.
• Position with the hydrogel mesh toward the wound.
• Secure with an appropriate secondary dressing (e.g., bandage or tape) according to clinical protocol.
• Single-use only; apply using aseptic technique.
