Overview

HARTMANN HydroTac (non-bordered/non-adhesive) is a sterile, single-use coated polyurethane foam dressing designed to support moist wound healing in the granulation and epithelialization phases. It combines controlled absorption with moisture donation, helping maintain an optimal wound environment while minimizing pain during dressing changes.

• Moisture management: absorbs low to moderate exudate and releases moisture from its hydrogel layer to maintain a balanced wound environment.
• Non-adherent interface for atraumatic, painless dressing changes.
• Gas-permeable, waterproof, and bacteria-resistant outer film to protect the wound from external contamination while allowing vapor exchange.
• Can be cut to size to match wound contours; requires suitable secondary fixation.
• Sterile and single-use to support infection control protocols.

Construction and Materials

• Outer layer: Polyurethane film that is gas-permeable, waterproof, and bacteria-resistant.
• Wound-contact surface: Mesh structure impregnated with a hydrogel (hydrated polyurea/polyurethane hybrid polymer containing propylene glycol) that acts as a moisture reservoir and prevents adherence to the wound.
• Foam component: Absorbent polyurethane foam pad for effective exudate uptake.

Indications

• For wounds in the granulation and epithelialization phases.
• Suitable for wounds with low to moderate levels of exudate.

Handling and Application

• Select a suitable size and shape; the dressing can be cut to fit the wound area.
• Place the hydrogel-impregnated mesh side in contact with the wound.
• Secure with appropriate secondary fixation (non-adhesive; requires a separate fixation method).
• Change according to exudate level and local clinical protocol. Do not reuse.
