Description

Elemental 028 Extra Liquid (E028 LQ) by Nutricia is an amino acid–based, nutritionally complete Food for Special Medical Purposes for oral or enteral use. It is formulated for patients with severely impaired gastrointestinal function who may not tolerate whole‑protein feeds. The ready‑to‑drink formula is lactose‑free, high in MCT (35% of fat), contains no added fibre, and includes sugars and sweeteners. Suitable from 1 year as a supplement, and as a sole source of nutrition from 5 years and in adults, under medical supervision.

Indications and suitability

• Dietary management of Crohn’s disease, short bowel syndrome, intractable malabsorption, bowel fistulae, radiation enteritis.
• Also used in malabsorption syndromes, eosinophilic oesophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and enterocutaneous fistulas.
• For patients with multiple food allergies requiring enteral feeding.
• Age: from 1 year (supplemental use); sole source from 5 years and in adults.

• Ready‑to‑drink 250 ml units; best served chilled.
• Flavours: Summer Fruits; Orange & Pineapple; Grapefruit.
• Outer pack: 18 × 250 ml units.

Directions and storage

• Intake to be determined by a clinician/dietitian based on age, bodyweight, and clinical condition.
• Once opened, refrigerate and use within 24 hours.
• Store unopened at 5–25°C in a cool, dry place. Shelf life: 15 months.
