Description
The IQ Cath Non-Hydrophilic Flexible Silicone Tip is a single-use intermittent self-catheterisation catheter from Manfred Sauer GmbH, designed for bladder emptying when a more adaptable tip profile may be helpful during insertion. This non-hydrophilic, non-lubricated version is intended for use with a separate lubricating gel.
A key design feature is its soft, rounded flexible silicone tip, combined with an approximately 5 cm flexible zone directly behind the tip. This flexible section is intended to assist the catheter in negotiating more challenging anatomy, including urethral narrowings or strictures, scarring, and obstruction associated with an enlarged prostate. Behind this area, the catheter incorporates a stiffer shaft or guiding zone to support controlled handling and easier advancement.
The catheter also features smooth, rounded eyelets, which are designed to support drainage while helping to reduce resistance during insertion and withdrawal. Together, these elements are intended to lower the risk of micro-trauma compared with less specialised tip designs.

Intended Use Considerations
This catheter is designed for users who require intermittent bladder emptying and may benefit from a flexible-tip catheter format. Its combination of a soft tip, flexible introductory section, and firmer guiding shaft is intended to improve navigation through difficult urethral passages while supporting practical day-to-day self-catheterisation.
