Description

The Avanos MIC Gastric‑Jejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube with ENFit connectors is a balloon‑retained, transgastric‑jejunal device designed to enable simultaneous gastric decompression/drainage and jejunal delivery of nutrition and medications. It is intended for patients who cannot adequately absorb nutrition via the stomach, including those with intestinal dysmotility, gastric outlet obstruction, severe reflux or aspiration risk, or following esophagectomy/gastrectomy.

Design and Key Features

  • Double‑lumen configuration with separate gastric drainage and jejunal feeding channels
  • Male ENFit connectors on gastric and jejunal ports; no separate medication port
  • Internal silicone retention balloon, 7–10 mL fill volume (size‑dependent)
  • SECUR‑LOK external retention ring for external stabilization
  • Tapered distal tip with multiple gastric and jejunal exit ports
  • Radiopaque construction: tungsten‑weighted jejunal segment and barium‑sulfate stripe on the gastric segment for imaging visibility
  • Medical‑grade silicone; not made with natural rubber latex, DEHP, DBP, or BBP

Placement and Measurement

  • Suitable for initial endoscopic or fluoroscopic placement, and for replacement in an established stoma tract
  • Jejunal length is measured from the distal aspect of the retention balloon to the catheter tip

Sizes and Options (ENFit versions)

  • 16 Fr outer diameter: jejunal lengths 15, 22, 30, 45 cm
