Description

Osmonate Calcium Alginate Rope is a soft-gelling fibre wound dressing from Sentry Medical, designed for use as a primary dressing on moderately to heavily exuding wounds. Made from calcium alginate naturally derived from seaweed, the rope format is suited to both superficial and deep wound areas where effective exudate management is important.

When in contact with wound fluid, the dressing forms a soft gel that conforms closely to the contours of the wound bed. This helps maintain a moist wound healing environment while supporting the management of excess exudate. The gelling action also assists with dressing removal, helping minimise disturbance to newly formed or fragile tissue. Osmonate Calcium Alginate Rope is also noted for 100% calcium ion availability and may assist with haemostasis in cases of minor bleeding.
