Description

Nutricia Souvenaid is a Food for Special Medical Purpose (FSMP) for the dietary management of early Alzheimer’s disease, including Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). For oral use only and to be used under medical supervision. It is not suitable as a sole source of nutrition and should be consumed in addition to the normal diet. Souvenaid is not a cure and does not halt or alleviate Alzheimer’s disease.

Intended use and formulation

• Designed to nutritionally support memory function and the formation/maintenance of synapses in early Alzheimer’s/MCI.
• Provides Fortasyn Connect: uridine 5′‑monophosphate (UMP), choline, omega‑3 fatty acids (DHA/EPA), phospholipids, B vitamins, and antioxidants (vitamins C & E, selenium) at levels difficult to achieve through diet alone.
• Daily intake is required; effects are not immediate.

Formats, flavors, and directions

• One bottle once daily, preferably at the same time (e.g., with breakfast). Shake well; best served chilled. If a dose is missed, consume when remembered.

Powder (360 g tin: Lemon & Orange; Vanilla & Banana; Chocolate Hazelnut)

• Once daily: add 3 scoops (30 g) to ~100 mL water, stir until mixed, and consume immediately. Best served chilled.

Dietary and allergen information

• Contains ingredients from milk, fish, and soy. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia; not for intravenous use.
• Liquid: gluten‑free (<20 mg/kg) and low lactose (<300 mg/kg; lactose <0.025 g/100 mL). Classified as low‑GI. Suitable for people with diabetes; contains carbohydrate—monitor blood glucose with the diabetes care team.

Storage

• Liquid: Store in a cool, dry place (≈5–25 °C). Once opened, reseal, refrigerate, and consume within 24 hours.
