Description

The mediven thrombexin 18 A-E thigh-length stocking is a medical anti-embolism and thrombosis-prophylaxis compression garment designed for the lower extremities. It provides 18 mmHg graduated compression, with the highest pressure at the ankle and a gradual reduction toward the thigh. This compression profile is intended for immobile or recumbent patients, particularly before, during and after surgery, to help reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It is also indicated for the prevention and therapy of post-operative and post-traumatic oedema.

Material and Fit

The stocking is made from 82% polyamide and 18% elastane and is supplied in white. Sizing is measurement-based using ankle and thigh circumference, with standard and extra-wide options available. The validated fit range spans ankle measurements from 20-31 cm and thigh measurements from 48-100 cm, depending on size.

Contraindications reported for this product include advanced peripheral arterial occlusive disease, decompensated heart failure (NYHA III-IV), septic phlebitis, phlegmasia cerulea dolens, and massive leg oedema.
