Description
Zetuvit Plus (HARTMANN) is a sterile, single-use, non-bordered, non-adhesive superabsorbent dressing for superficial wounds producing moderate to high exudate. Designed for professional application in clinical or homecare settings, it manages fluid rapidly while helping to remove inhibitory components of exudate. The dressing is compatible with compression therapy and can be used as a primary or secondary option according to clinical judgment. Each pad is individually sealed.
Performance and benefits
- Rapid uptake, even distribution, and secure binding of exudate to support a moist wound environment.
- Maintains absorption and integrity under compression; conforms to body contours and provides gentle cushioning.
- Water-repellent, air-permeable backing reduces strikethrough and helps protect clothing and bedding while limiting external contamination.
- Helps reduce protease burden within exudate.
Design and materials (4-layer)
- Wound contact layer: soft, white, hydrophilic nonwoven (viscose/polyamide).
- Absorbent core: cellulose fluff with polyacrylate superabsorbent polymers to absorb and bind fluid.
- Distribution layer: thin nonwoven that spreads exudate across the core.
- Outer layer (green, wound-away): polypropylene nonwoven, water-repellent and air-permeable.
Indications
For long-term management of acute and chronic superficial wounds with moderate to high exudate, including traumatic and post-operative wounds, lymphatic wounds, pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, arterial or mixed-aetiology leg ulcers, and tumour/fungating wounds.
Application and wear time
- Select a size extending approximately 1–2 cm beyond wound margins.
- Apply white side to the wound; green side faces away.
- Do not cut the dressing.
- Secure with appropriate secondary fixation (adhesive tape, conforming bandage, or compression bandage).
- Change based on clinical assessment, or when exudate reaches the edges or becomes visible through the green backing.
- Typical wear time is up to about 5 days, depending on wound condition and exudate level.
- May be used with local antiseptics.
Contraindications
- Do not use on dry wounds or on wounds with exposed bone, muscle, or tendon.
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component.
Precautions
- Single-use only; do not reuse or reprocess.
- Assess and manage factors that may impair healing; control infection before use.
- Use with caution in infants, children, and pregnant or nursing patients; follow clinician recommendation.
- Inspect packaging for integrity before use.
- For paper–paper peel packs, the sealed seam contains natural rubber latex (allergy risk).
Disposal
Dispose of used dressings according to local regulations to minimize infection risk; household disposal may be acceptable where permitted.
